Richard claimed his Father if a Canadian Resident. He did not say his Father is a Canadian Citizen. Nor did he say at the time of his birth his Father was in Canada as a citizen.

He claimed he is 23 years of age and his Father has resided in Canada for 20 years. So obviously his Father was not a Citizen at the time of Richards birth.

Why would Richard then have a certificate of Canadian Citizenship?

So limited or not so detailed information leads to picking on the wrong poster.

The point of the forum (giving advice in regards to immigration to Canada) is greatly neglected.

What is your father´s opinion on the subject (If I may)?

In my humble opinion Canada is a good place if your life is seriously threatened in your home country. In the negative, you´re probably going to get a much better deal in other countries (EU, Ex-CIS and/or other Common Wealth Countries)

Only one advice if you decide to come...get a CANADIAN Masters Degree in something (forget about any UK degree or professional ticket, won´t work here (Even a degree from Harvard is not worth the paper it was printed on in Canada. Ya see It ain´t no Canaaaaaadian eeeh). Best of luck anyway. Try to touch base with Brits and get their take on the subject (I´m old and stupid).

Have you looked into immigrating here? You can do an online test to see if you have enough points to do this.

If not you can look into your dad sponsoring you as a family member. I´m not too sure how that would work if he is not a Canadian citizen, but its worth checking out.
