Subject: conjugal sponsorship
I appreciate any info, suggestions and advices. I´m from the philippines and my partner who is a PR would like to sponsor me. We have lived together for 7 years in the philippines before he went to canada and we have sufficient proof - letters, emails, photos, ID´s, legal documents. I can´t marry him because I had a previous marriage - FYI Divorce is not allowed in the Philippines - I´m currently processing my annulment it has been on process for almost 2 years and i don´t know when the decision will be finalized i heard sometimes it takes 5 years. We have been together for 7 years without a child which i think makes it a little complicated through i have medical records to show that we have tried infertility work outs.
We are planning to submit out application this month, does anybody have the same experience? I´d really appreciate any advice. and can anybody tell me if I have any chance of acquiring a visa?
many thanks

Your PR partner and you lived together for 7 years and he/she went to Canada and NEVER declared you as their partner when they got Landed.

BE CAREFUL!!!!

You could be refused 117 (9) (d) and never be allowed into Canada because you were not examined.

thank you roy actually he did declare me as a common law partner, but due to the fact that we are physically separated we couldn´t be categorized as such so we had to apply as conjugal partners. In the philippines Common law relationships are not recognized it is either you are married or single. He also declared me in his insurance as a dependent and also in his T4 as a common law partner.
I hope you can help me what else can I provide to prove that our relationship is genuine. many thanks again

Try your story on someone else!

If your living together got seven years your common law and it does not matter which country your from.

I know someone from your country as well who has been denied by immigration to live with his partner here in canada mainly because they failed to provide marriage cert The guy is still in the process of annulment, says takes several years. i guess you just have to wait...
