I can´t prove it but I suspect that it does. I´m a white heterosexual, meat eater, would-be patriotic Canadian (French-English speaking) who held a NATO Personal Security Clearance of the highest level when we applied (i.e.) could sit next to Harper or Obama with a loaded gun at my hip, first round in the pipe, safety switch off and yet staaaaaaaangely enough my wife and I were treated by CIC as if we were scum of the worst kind (wife wrongly criminalized by CIC and kept away from the country for years..and more) while OTHER people who would seek to emulate the millenium bomber are allowed in, no questions asked...yeah right...

...And if you believe I´m pushing it just ask yourself why Ottawa is (only now) looking for 20 "Cdns" who joined the ranks of Al-Shabaab...

No it doesn´t.

If you really think that it does, then go to a Citizenship ceremony and count how many different countries and ethnic groups are there and they all become Canadian Citizens that same day.

BTW high level security clearence means WHAT???. You should know that. It only matters when you are in the high risk security area, for other porpuses such as your wife´s immigration or any other federal service really means nothing.
So just because you have it or had it. Don´t expect a different treatment.

Next time I need to do my taxes, I am going to send a copy of my batch??? Maybe I can get a break??

Yeah right.

DocD...PSC Means NOTHING eh ?? Well...why to have them at all then? Obviously you´re not familiar with the vetting process involved with PSC issuance. FYI it´s not JUST for Hostile Environments, it´s for EVERYTHING you do in your life Mate. Too much indebtedness, too much booze, to much womanizing or too much of this or that... Vulnerability? Minor Offense? Questionable behavior ?Booom! There goes your PSC and your career. Now granted it ain´t fail-safe (nothing is), Aldrich Ames had one and he was caught working on both sides of the fence. But still I thought a bit of courtesy would have been in good order. Maaan...That hysterical CIC Officer was really suffering from a bad case of "prairie parochialism" (to put things mildly)!! She obviously knew fxxx all about the legal systems of the countries in her remit and on top of that she didn´t even understand how her own Cdn Government was working with international partners!! Worst of all was to consider my lady love as a criminal against ALL evidence to the contrary. Things changed only 8 years later when someone who displayed more than a room temperature IQ had another look at the file and reached the "all too obvious" conclusion...a bit late I´d be tempted to say...

John,

I am quite familiar with PSC more than you think. You are misunderstanding my post.

Your behaviour, background and so forth will determine that you are meet the requirements to have them, now the fact that you have or had them has nothing to do with expecting a different treatment when requesting a Municipal, Provincial or Federal service because you have PSC.

And yes, your PSC gives you access to certain environments that´s it. It will not give ANY preferencial treatment in an application of that kind SPECIALLY when you are sponsoring someone else. The person that is going to be investagated isn´t you, it is the applicant.

I just wanted to point out.

Sad to hear that your experiense with the previous officer wasn´t the greatest.

Hi DocD,

Is there any way I can talk to you or communicate in private via email? I need to discuss an issue with ypu since you seem to be a knowledgeable person as how CIC practically works?

I would appreciate your help if you could please send me an email at realcanadian@rogers.com

Thanks.
