| Subject: So what do you get when visa is stamped? |

Just hatching my eggs early...
Maybe my kick for the day while I wait to hear from CIC...
My question(s) are:
1) What do you get when you get your PR visa? Just the visa or a bunch load of paper-work in a file (like the US green-card)?
2) Do you actually have to show up with two big suitcases on your first visit? What about a scouting mission to check where you are going to stay and possible job etc. Could you not just land with a sufficient luggage for a month and all papers? I hear some dudes got stopped for not coming with enough stuff with them. How true is that?

You will get a visa :))
Passport will be stamped and landing paper (4 parted form) will be issued. At the time of landing immigration officer will give you one copy of landing papers that will be valid till your PR Card arrives. You should take a recent photograph with you for speedy processing for your PR Card as they are making PR Cards on arrival. It will be mailed to you in couple weeks.
You may come without anything, there is no law against it. You will have 3 years to bring all of your personal belongings. Best way to protect you, bring a detailed list, like a binder with the details of everything you are planning to bring over. It could be car to bicycle. Have immigration officer stamped on each page, you will be covered for 3 years. No customs or duties....
