Subject: becoming pr and sin |
Hello everyone windy morning
Okay my question is pretty simple I am about to become pr very very soon my interview is june 21 this coming up one, will I get a new sin number because I am refugee protected person do I have to go apply for a new sin#?

(in reply to: becoming pr and sin) Yes, you need a new SIN. Likely your SIN number starts with a #9. Which is a temporary SIN number.

(in reply to: becoming pr and sin) SIN OFFICE will take your old sin card and will issue the new permanant sin number to you. you can´t have both at the same time.

YES YOU CAN (in reply to: becoming pr and sin) At a local immigration office (Etobicoke) where you will land as a PR, you can get it at an adjacent Service Canada window after you complete your landing process. You will be called and return your old SIN card and the man or woman will collect your mother and father name and print you the permanent SIN on the paper and you will receive it in mail from Bathurst, New Brunswick in about 2 to 3 weeks.
