| Subject: What if we delay in sending passport for visa? |

My wife and I are currently residents of Saudi Arabia. My wife just recently traveled to Pakistan and won´t be back till the end of September 2011.
I just recieved a letter from the Canadian High Commission (London), that my process is at the final stage and that I need to submit the passports for the Visa within 45 days.
Now my questions are
1. Can I wait till the end of September 2011 to courier our passports then to London? As we still have time as our medical was recently done in April 2011, so we have 1 year from that time for the visa to be valid.
Or is it really necessary to submit the passports within the 45 days?
2. Also they said in the letter that the visa process takes at the max 6 weeks. Does anyone who have couriered their passports from Saudi have experienced this?
3. They say that they will send the passports back by Courier service to countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar,etc due to the poastal situation in these countries. Is that true? Do they really send courier or is it just registered mail?
I will appreciate if someone can help me in this regards.

You need to submit your passports within 45 days - otherwise your application will very likely be refused.

Yes, they will send it back through courier service like DHL etc. and not through registered mail, but you have to pay while collecting your passports. Any ways, congrats that your process is going to be completed soon. Please let me know the total time line of your case.
I´m also waiting for similar letter after completing medical and sending RPRF in April 2011.
