Subject: how to immigrate with new rules!

As we all know, Canada welcomes 265.000 immigrants every year. FSW limit is now set to 10.000 a year, or 500 per occupation that doesn´t require University Degree at all. I wonder how CIC can find 255.000 more immigrants in other categories which can score 67.

I am really worried, I did my studies, I did my IELTS 6.5, now I am doing Master, I have 4+ year of working experience in banking and I am 33y old. My Canadian dream has gone I guess, the way I always wanted immigrating legally.

Now the only option left PNP or job offer which is impossible. Could you please give us any clue, whats going one, what to think and what to do... (its not backlog blla blla)...

I am with this forum for years...

Best regards,
Speedloflight

yes, you have been around for a long time!

After you have worked so hard, nothing would be worse than applying and being successful to only discover there are absolutely no jobs for you in your profession. As you know, that has been the biggest complaint on this forum for years.

265,000 immigrants includes family members of skilled workers, family class (spouses and parents), investor class and PNP.

For every application there must be at least 2-3 family members that are attached to that application - spouse, kids etc. I am sure they must have some average that they use.

I am wondering if they are going to try to top things off with the older applications to see if they can´t deal with the backlog.

Hey Seeker you have described Canada´s reality quite accurately but don´t you think the Canadians are to be faulted for their financial situation? The citizens here are very irresponsible and have an attitude of let-us-enjoy-now mentality. This is the main reason they lack in savings and live paycheck-to-paycheck. I can understand your frustration with skilled jobs but you should recognize that in your own country, you are likely to hire your own folks before you look outside for skilled labor; With Canada being a small economy, it is indeed flooded with more skilled ppl than needed and they end up on sidewalk.

138.198 - I am curious... what exactly did you expect before arriving?

I expected a good life, which the canadian government is advertising and promising all over the world. I was a civil engineer in my home country with 14 years of experience. Before leaving for canada in 2009, a seminar was held by an CIIP (A canada govt. enterprise) in our city, where i was told that within 6 months of landing, i will be able to get in my field by taking some bridging courses, but when i arrived here, i found that it was not true. Truely, i don´t like you SHARON, but i do like the way you are opposing the immigration (Though it is not going to make any difference to canada govt. or CIC). But, i am a little bit happy now as the canadian government is recognising his fault (as they are not getting any benefit out of the skilled immigrants) and squeezing it´s list of occupations + the no. of FSW every year. last year, it was 20,000. This year, it is 10,000 and god willing next year, it will be 5,000 and so on until 2015 or 2016 when there will be no list for the skilled people and their life will not become miserable by migrating here in canada.

Bye for now.

I am not here for someone to like me... even though it happens some times. I want the truth told, good or bad.

too many people think Canada is paradise - it´s not. however, to many, it is is a chance for a start they only dream about.

Trick is to know when you have it good exactly where you are. Life is not always better on the other side of the fence.

It was my belief too that Canada was a place to fulfill all your dreams and was planning to continue my Masters in Computer Science in Canada but after seeing all your comments, i think i´m making a wrong decision. I have been told by few of my friends about the discrimination stuff.

Rameez,

Please don´t make a mistake. Rather it will be a BLUNDER knowingly the reality of Canada. If u r educated, don´t ever think of immigrating to Canada. Better u stay there where u r if u r able to get your food there. If u r not able to make that much money that is sufficient to buy you the food, then definitely Canada will be abetter option.

Regards.
