  Please help me
I got my AIP a month ago from local office and was told that i can apply for a work permit. but the problem is i worked illegal last year ( i quit my job two months ago ) and i paid taxes and everything and i was told to do income taxes without a work permit. im dying of worry that immigration will find about this through canada revenue agency and deport me. i dont know what to do , im so stressed out over this. please help me, should i tell immigration myself about this ? what will the penalties be and is there a big chance i will be deported. i honestly regret working illegally

explain them why you did it.
work permit or no work permit, you have to file taxes every year. they need tax info against SIN number.

Dock, take it easy for now. This whole immigration thingy is no healthy at all. What´s done is what´s done.

Yes, I would be worried too because I filed tax return for the year I worked without a work permit. What if CIC finds out that I worked and paid tax without a work permit.

do you know how will cic know if someone has worked illegal or is it better to just tell them, i applied for an open work permit and now im afraid they will reject that too because i failed to mention that i worked illegal for some time. and did u apply under spousal sponsership as well ?

Wake up people.

CIC Officers would rather have you assisting your partner financially than laying on the couch day after day watching Judge Judy.

Just tell them you worked, No Problem!

"Just tell them you worked, No Problem!"

No problem eh?
How about when he had to fill the background declaration of what he has been doing since the age of 18? What did he write there?

Oh wait.... couldn´t been the truth, so he could have misrepresented himself?

Misrepresentation is against the law and normally the end result isn´t pretty.

I am not too sure what answer you want to hear but the fact is that you worked without a permit. Your SIN number starts with a "9" right? That means you are a foreing national. You had no permission to work in Canada and likely revenue Canada knows it. If they report it to CBSA then the agency will come after you. If RC doesn´t report it then you are a lucky guy.
