I am here in Canada for last 14 years and last year my H & C was approved. In the letter CIC said that i have to undergo for medical and background checkup.
How long it can take to receive the medical request?
My back ground checkup was done once in 2002. I never left Canada in the last 14 years. Why they have to do back ground check again? I heard it can take 3 - 4 years for background check and medicals. I lived in two countries before coming in to Canada (UAE & Pakistan)
My daughter done high school in 2009 and because of high university fee for non immigrants, she can´t go to university. That´s really upsetting our whole family.
What Can I do so they can expedite my landing process? Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated.

You are in for the 2nd step of Permanence Residence in Canada, including medical exam, RCMP fingerprint(police clearance from each country you´d lived more than 6 months in a row and CIC´s own background(security check) and the landing fees and photos.

medical/background check/finger prints were done once in 2002. that time my PR application was turned down from the CIC Buffalo, NY. (the reason it was refused because i did not attend the interview)
I don´t know why they are wasting time and money for second time background checks & medicals, when it was already done in 2002 and i never left canada for the last 14 years.

fastest way to get it all done is to get your medical exam and your background check. 2002 was a long time ago. Things change.
You have been here as a guest for 14 years and have not been deported. I would suggest you stop complaining.

thats right sharon. but they are not requesting medical or background check till now. its almost 10 months now since they approve the h & c.

Malik you really have to stop complaining about you having your medical done again. Many are hoping to be in your status now. I for one would have been the happiest man on earth assuming my application is done saying approved. If you were asked to leave the country, your daughter would still go to school or whatsoever. So you´re telling me you still don´t have your medical and police certificate done? Even me that am hoping to get a positive result have my police certificate done but on the way. I will be doing my medical by early next month. So i wish you good luck and I hope to have my status and timeline posted here some day to encourage others. Be patience and have hope that things would be fine. What is your time line for your H&C? I even heard that most H&C files has been forwarded to Montreal due to backlog in Vancouver. Am not sure but this is what an agent told me few weeks ago that my file is now with them in Montreal. How true, i don´t know. I don´t trust those agent guys because they have little facts.

I am not complaining about med or B.G. checks. I am just asking what should I do to get the things done a little bit faster.
I applied h & C in late 2002 & December 23rd 2010 got approved in principle.
I am not in hurry, but I can´t afford to pay CAD$10000.00 per semester (university tuition)for my daughter as an international student. My son is also graduating (high school) next year, so I just don´t want them to wait for University admission.

...your ancestors FLED/kicked all white europe because it was hell and most are kicked because of criminality ... so your ancestors arrived on boats on kanata WITH clear criminal RECORDS.
i always remeber that old native indian who explained how most of you arrived on boats from some hole in europe and declared war on the natives who by the way did not ask for your documents or legale papers, cause most of you were criminals .... it pest me off when a criminal preach to others morals and vlaues....
