Subject: SINP program while illegal in country of residence
I am starting our application for the SINP program. My husband has a firm job offer under NOC code 8253. Problem: we are illegal in our country of residence. Admitted legally but overstayed after asylum was denied. How do we explain this to CIC on application? Also is applying for asylum the same as applying for refugee status? It asks about refugee status on the Background declaration, so would the denied asylum application fall under this?
What is the correct term for our status in our country of residence: out of status/illegal/no status. I want to complete the forms correctly and put our case in the best light possible.
Thank you in advance for your advice/tips/help.
