Subject: canada Citizenship Case
  Dear All, Please help me:
Recently, my wife and I did the citizenship test. After three weeks I went to the local citizenship and immigration office and asked them about the test result. They told me that I passed the test but my wife has a judge hearing and this process (judge hearing ) will take 8 months and I have to wait my wife to do the judge hearing. Does that make sense!!? I mean, I passed the test and they do not allow me do the Oath (citizenship ceremony) becasue my wife has a judge hearing. I did not get it!!!!!!!!!! So my questions to you are:[1]-Does anyone have heard about a similar situation?
[2]-Should I write a complain letter?
[3]-Any advice? Is there anything that I can do to speed up the process of my application and NOT wait for 8 months?.

Answers:

1- No

2- Complain about what? Both of you are in the same application right?

3- No, there is nothing you can do, other than wait.

You just write a letter to CIC about the situation and let them know you want seperate you application from your spouse. That´s it. And you´ll get oath very soon. Nothing to worry. I read lot of this kind story from forums.

Jak, what is your problem? you either wait for your wife to qualify and do it together as a family or tell them you want to separate your file. What sort of similar case do you need to see.

I would be some pissed of if I was your wife.

Sharon, It is not simple as I and you think:
I am afraid that the separation will double the probelm and if you read the story below ,which was sent to me, you will know why I am asking (statistics is the only way that we depend on):
Here is the story I have
I had exactly same situation. We are three in File me and my Two Brothers. We had Test on 15Jan. 2011. I sent them a letter to separate my file from them not because of my brothers failed the test. It’s because one of my brother got RQ on the test day because he is working with US Company and drive Truck from Toronto to US. The interviewer lady told him that she had a doubt about his residency requirement because he goes to US for his work. So after more than one month wait I and my other brother sent them request on 28th Feb 2011 to separate our file from the one who got RQ. We called CIC every other week but they always told same thing to us that yes they did received our request but they didn’t made any decision on that file separate request and CIC also add that its totally up to my Local Office(Mississauga) if they gonna separate our file or not. If I argue with agent then they said I’m the one who decide to apply together as a family and now I change my mind it’s not gonna work like that so what I can do now.... I’m and my other brother we are still waiting for our Oath since then.
I wanna add one more thing my Brother who Got RQ he submitted his RQ with related Documents end of Jan 2011. And didn’t get anything back from them till May so he decided to withdraw his application in May and he did sent them a request and no further update on his request yet... so tell me what you can do in this situation except waiting and waiting and waiting...
