| Subject: I am missing only 5 days, can I renew my PR ? |

Dear all,
Please can you give me your opinion regarding my case.
I became PR in Feb 11the 2008. During the three first years of my PR status I came to Canada once a year for periods of 3 to 4 weeks. I was working as a post-doc in France during these three years. I finally came "for good" in Feb 6th 2011. Normally, I could apply for the renewal of my PR card/status in Feb 2013, but unfortunately I had to travel to France again for 10 days in March (from March 18th to March 29th of 2011). Because of this emergency travel I will not have 730 days but 724 or 725 days if I do not leave Canada before February 2013.
Do you think I still can renew my PR or is it impossible ? If not possible what should I do ? Do I have to apply once again for the whole immigration process before my PR card is expired ?
My mistake was that I was sincerely thinking that the weeks I spend during the last three years will count but I have been told that if I left the country for a period longer than 6 months than those days are lost :-(((... I didn´t knew that before !
Remark:
- when I came in Feb 6th 2011, the immigration officer gave me a warning saying that I may lose my PR status and that I have to be carreful.
- After my emergency travel, when I came back in March 29th, the officer gave me another warning (because I gave my french adress on the police form) and asked some questions and then asked me to go to the immigration office behind, the officer told me, after I gave her my explanations, that I have 2 years now to make up for it.
If I had lost all chances to renew my PR, why did the immigration officer let me enter Canada ?
I do not understand why ?

A: You have 2 years now to make up for it (as of March 29th, 2011).
Voila ce qui résoudra le problem pour toutes et tous !
Vous restes au canada jusqu´au mars 2013 et plus le manque de jours. En plus, environ 8 mois pour renouveller la carte de residence permanence sans vacance ni partir dehors de canada, oh canada !
