| Subject: I accidentally paid Permanent Residence Fee TWICE |

Hi, recently I am sponsoring a Family Class member and so I process to pay the fees:
Sponsorship application (per application) $75.00
Principal applicant $475.00
I used my credit card and paid but the 1st time, the website said the payment is not approved so it didn´t provide me a receipt. I paid a 2nd time and this time it was approved and provided me a receipt.
But today I check my credit card account and it was charged TWICE.
Does anyone know how to get my money back or a number to call to fix it. I tried calling my credit card company but they said I have to contact the merchant about that. I´m so clueless, please help!

I paid my right for permanent landing fee twice in error & I call CIC at the 1-800-242-2100 number and explained the matter & the money was put back to my credit card. You can try that too.

Call your bank and tell them you got a double charge! They will refund it

Pull your had out of the sand Sharon! they will. if you got charged twice they will send you a forn to sign and then refund the extra charge. It happen to me!!!!

the merchant (in this case CIC) has to authorize the credit first otherwise I can buy 4 TVs at Best Buy and tell Visa I was charged 3 times by mistake and I want a refund.
What are the chances?

The same thing happened to me too! Only the phone number doesn´t work for me since I am in the US and the website is stuck in some weird redirect loop and won´t load. Does anyone know the number to call from the states? Should I just call the consulate in San Francisco?

Hi,
in my FSW immigration process. I have paid the processing fees twice. Once through a bank draft sent to sydney in Feb 2009 and once again in 2010 paid directly to the canadian embassy in cairo as they have explained to me that the bank draft was rejected and should be returned. Since then I never get my bank draft back and CIC sydney office refused to send it back or even to provide me with an official letter confirming that it will never be collected so I can refund it´s amount. I have contacted them by Phone, Postal letters and emails.
