Hello,
I have decided that Canada is not the place i wish to live my life.
How can i officially cancel or revoke my Permanent status.
Need assistance pls

Just go into your local CIC office and tell them you wish to relinquish your PR. They will book you an appointment for an interview with a CIC officer. The interview takes about 30 mins as they have to make sure you fully understand what you are doing. You will sign a few documents and they will then issue you with an order to leave Canada within 30 days. I did it back in 2006 and then landed again as a new PR 5 weeks later!

Well I was a PR back in the 90´s. I moved away from Canada for 5 years and decided to immigrated to Canada again. So I submitted my application.
I was visiting Canada when consulate contacted me and said I was still a PR. I told them I was visiting Canada at the time and they told me to go into the local CIC so they could check my status as the could not complete my application until my PR status was determine.
So I went in and relinquish my status. I left Canada 2 weeks later and a week after getting home the consulate call for my passport. Got my COPR a week later and was back in Canada within 2 weeks :)

is there a special form that one needs to fill up, in order to start the relinquish process prior to the interview...

i was principal applicant for my family. now we have received our PR cards. soon after we arrived in canada.My husband started abusing me and now he want to divorce me.in fact he has used me in reaching Canada. Now I want to ask that can i cancel his PR.kindly advice me and how can i do that.

My husband myself and my two kids landed in Canada in 2011 accepted our immigration and filed for pr then we went back to u.a.e as my husband use to work there ...after few months we received our pr. but due to his commitment towards his job we didn´t went to Canada and stayed in u.a.e after fulfilling his commitment...me and my two kids went to my hometown but due to some misunderstanding my husband left me my two kids and went to Canada alone....now I am afraid that he might cancel our pr as all my documents my pr including my passport is under his custody.... plsss advise.

my parent in-laws got their pr status in september 2008. They lived in canada till november 2008 then went to INDIA and stayed there until JULY 2009 WENT back again in OCTOBER 2010 AND came back DEC 2010 lived in BC then went back to INDIA again in NOVEMBER 2011( with my older son - for his primary education) came back in JUNE 2013 for his summer holiday and also to renew there PR status which was about to expire in Oct 2013 they fill there application to renew PR status but they had to leave for my son school SO they left in JULY 2013 after month They mail the PR cards from INDIA and we mailed the PR application AND last year in Nov 2013 we have received there PR cards HOW LONG THEY CAN STAY THERE?
