Dear Sir,
Since I am running short of few weeks I cannot apply for citizenship and have to renew my PR card which expires in 10 months. Presently, I am in Canada and qualify for the renewal.
I understand that I have to be physically present in Canada when I apply for the renewal.But my questions are:
1. Can I apply and leave the country to travel and come back to collect my card?
2. Between the application and my receiving the new card if I have to urgently travel do I have to take permission / travel documents?

You can apply to walk on the moon but...... Your short two weeks of residentcy to apply for citizenship. Wait the two weeks apply then travel.
