If someone is given 30 days to leave the country, and he plans to appeal it, how long is the appeal process?

Your not talking about an an actual appeal.
First you apply for leave (permission) to appeal.
If granted then you appeal.

Not failed refugee. He was ordered to leave the country after his pr was denied. He was very abusive to the person sponsoring him and she did not want to go through with it. She wrote a letter to immigration with the reasons for her wanting to withdraw the application and it was granted. Not only that, it is the second time the application has been withdrawn for the same reason( two diffent persons). He was actually charged the first time and was pardoned and immigration is well aware of that. Now, after being given 30 days to leave the country he is planning on appealing it. How long does the process usually take and does he have a chance to obtain his pr status?

30 days to leave. It means that he was given a volunteer departure order by a CIC immigration officer right?
There is no appeal. After 30 days that becomes a deportation order.
Best thing to do is to leave the country, apply from abroad and come back.

To vitorelli, my family member is not a "bitch". After being beaten and her face has enough scars to show it, along with the rest of ther boby, what makes her a bitch? The only thing she did wrong was sit in the relationship for five year, with her child witnessing all the abuse. She has reasons to be scared of this man, now that she is out of the relationship. He is constantly asking people for her address, and she is currently going through court to keep this man away from her. In addition to that he did the same thing to his first wife, so my family member is not being malicious, she just does not want to take on the responsibility of this man, who might eventually kill her. Personally, I dont think that makes her a "bitch"
