"I guess I can not do much against an economic system put in place to enslave us.
Economic systems are proving themselves to be inefficient anyways. I hope that we as humans learn that greed will get us nowhere in the long haul."

Now you have me puzzled. I am assuming that you left your home country for Canada in the hopes that you might find a better income and standard of living. Another word for that is "greed". So are you suggesting that you should have been content with what you had and where you lived rather than think you could have the easy life and be rich simply by living somewhere else?

Perhaps greed is what enslaves us rather than economic systems.

I like Pete.

I have a client who came to Canada to make a refugee claim and could not find work in his field. So he looked in various GTA papers to see which occupation paid well that he thought he could do.

He saw plenty of advertisements for Long Haul Drivers and he knew how to drive a car so he took a course. Passed, got a job.

Then he found out if he had his own truck he would get paid far more for the same trip. He leased a truck then another, another, another and employed plenty of others.

I have other clients all driving high end cars and owning their own homes mortgage free like Pete. Instead of whining and blaming others like Vitorelli they got up dusted themselves off and worked for a better life.

I was listening to a program this morning about the world economy and it was discussing the problems in Greece, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and Spain. The days of entitlement are over. Those countries have been borrowing money to keep everyone in holidays and early retirements for years and they are simply out of borrowing capacity. They are broke by little guy standards.

Those that come from those countries that are whining about how lousy their life is in Canada need to give their head a shake. The party back home is over.

Who says immigrants have to work in Tim Horton´s or 7/11?

When you move to a new country you need to adjust your options. Not sit around complaining.

I started an apprenticeship within months landing. As a first year I made $20/h. As a journeyman I now make $38/h. Not bad for a slave as Vitorelli put it.

How did I own my own home inside of 5 years? I worked hard! Did lots of overtime and put it all onto my mortgage. No it´s not a $200,000 home but it is 100% mine!

It makes me sick as an immigrant when I hear lazy immigrants using the Racist cards when they don´t get there way! As I said before. Cowards affix blame!!

Not 5 percent Hola, perhaps only 0.5% can do that. And I´m not even sure that "Pete" does really exist, he could be a fictitious person LOL. You´re right, 5 of my Canadian friends had to leave Canada for work. Almost all of my immigrant friends whom I know have left Canada. Their money have been sucked by the Canadian "exorbitant" economy.
So Roy is an immigration lawyer eh? Now his motive is obvious.
Don´t listen to lawyers, they´re pure CRAP.

Hola, how many of your friends got full IELTS marks in English ? None? how about 12 points?

now, turn the tables... I go to the country of your friends but I do not speak enough of the language to write a letter, or email or talk properly on the phone. Where am I going to end up working?

Sharon, you are so typical LOL. Their English is good, if not in perfection. Though I admit they would never be as good as you guys native English speakers.
While in here, some Americans and Canadians who work here can only understand little Germans. My Indonesian friend even told me that many foreigners who work there don´t even understand Indonesian. So cut the crap about that since you don´t even have the experience. Really made you look dumb.

I have lots of experience. I hire people. I look at fantastic resumes for administrative assistant positions and when the applicant cannot spell, or construct a sentence I don´t care what their qualifications are... they are useless to me. So... where do you work when you don´t have adequate language skills but lots of education - Tim Hortons.

text book? I am afraid I don´t understand. Where I live and work, 50% of the population are non-white, function perfectly in english and have great jobs.

So I am not sure what text book I am reading.
