Subject: Will Buffalo ever respond to a fax or letter?
Has anyone (who has their file at Buffalo) ever had a response to a fax or letter you sent??? My medicals are about to expire (my eclient does NOT say ´medicals received´) and I have sent two faxes (one in December) and one two days ago to ask if there is any problem with my medicals or my file overall. My application is family class and Buffalo have had my file ´in process´ since April 22, 2004.

Will anyone in Buffalo ever respond to my concerns?

Ozinca,

This is OZZ. I´m also in the same problem. As a matter of fact, my medical is expired by now, the same as my FBI certificate. If idiots from Buffalo ask for those shit again, that´s it, I will give up. I don´t care, my family will have to come to my home country, or we separate for good, because I have decided not letting those idiots treat me like a piece of shit just because I am not US citizen. If my wife really loves me, she will have to care about my dignity and recognize that those idiots are just trying treat me like shit. I won´t let that happen!

All other cases I have seen in her family and in this forum, in the spousal class, have been processed within 8 months. They have processed unskilled spouses in a relatively fast fashion, compared to myself. If the FBI certificate and the medical exam are expired, is their fault, not mine!

They don´t reply to faxes, nothing at all. I advise you let your sponsor talk to your MP. Sometimes, they are pretty good in letting you know what is going on, other times they just don´t care, so it depends on the MP´s interest.

Good luck! I will try to drink more booze to calm down this bad mood in which I am today... Have a nice weekend!

Hi Ozinca,
I wrote my first fax to CIC Buffalo in Mid Jan 2005, asking why they didn´t update my e-client status when Ottawa medical center has finalized it in Dec 2004. I also asked if there is anything missing that they are still waiting for. They replied my fax in 10 days confirming Medicals received and stated that they are waiting for an updated proof of funds and my background check is still in progress. I was never asked for updated proof of funds in my IA(Sept 2004) but I have sent(Jan 2005) what they requested in fax. The only reason why they replied back to my fax (as per my interpretation)was that I wrote my inquiry on their suggested form that came along with IA and their reply was written on same fax page at the bottom. I guess makes a difference is how you make your request and language you use.
Hope this helps.
Aki

I think the probability of getting a response from Buffalo depends on several factors:

1) Your immigration officer. If he/she has some humanitarian compassion left in his/her heart, you´re likely going to get a reply.

2) Your nationality and status in the country you are applying. Expect a reply if you are citizen or permanent resident of the country from where you are applying. In Buffalo, if you are not US citizen or no Green Card holder, expect NADA.

3) Your luck. In everything we do in life, luck plays a significant role.

In my case, I don´t have items 2 and 3. As far as my immigration officer, he must be a jerk. Result: I will not get the PR before I give up.

AKI,

I used very polite language, although they don´t deserve it, and wrote in the space provided in the correspondig staus enquire form they provide. They ignored the fax.

So, I still go back to my three factors mentioned above.

Drink booz, booz, boo

Ozz, I agree with you that luck plays an important role in this process. Other than that it also depends on you i.e. how you present your case. With you communication skills you can even make a jerk reply back to you. Patience is good but sit idle and wait for e-client status to change won´t reduce anybody´s sufferings. Now that I have sent my docs, I will check my e-client only on Monday´s of every week. In one week I expect my CAIPS notes so I will have some more information on my case. I am neither a US citizen nor a PR.
Cheers and never lose hope. One day...one day... we will get it.
Aki.

Aki,

Thanks for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, in the spousal class and when you have your son waiting for you, one more day of waiting is one more day I don´t see my son grow, one more day I miss his grace... If my family was not in Canada, I would have left back to my home country...

Thanks for your post.

Ozz, you are making me feel sorry for you.Y ou need someone to invite you for dinner or take you out to divert your attention for a few hours. I am not sure your visit to your family was such a good idea - you have been far more discouraged since you have returned home! Don´t give up my friend. Everything could change in 24 hours. I am sure there will be a time when all this waiting will feel like a bad long weekend. Can you imagine how it must have been for people that travelled by ship to places without the benefit of telephones and email and letters. They must have gone crazy. Hang in there my friend.

Thanks everyone, I think I will wait till the end of Feb, and then send another fax using the form they give you. I actually type my faxes like a letter so like Aki said, using the forms they give you may be the only way to get a response. Thanks Aki.

Ozz, I can totally understand where you are coming from. Throughout this process, I have had several ´immigration meltdowns´. I get very upset sometimes, have a good cry and slowly pull myself together. I think what keeps me going is the long term goal. In a couple of years, I hope to look back on this and know it was worth it and thank myself for my continued patience. Good luck to you, hang in there.

Sharon,

I am a Buffalo applicant like Ozz too and suffering from the same sort of things. But I never ask him not to complain about his situation. My reason is that I do not have son and I cannot understand what he says or feels until I have the same problem. On the other hand, when I see how *bad* people in Buffalo are acting I can not just close my eyes, take a deep breath and say: "such a lovely people".

Ozz, I do respect your feeling and words about Buffalo officers!

Ozz knows my intentions. I would never dream to diminish his feelings towards Buffalo officers. His feelings are real. I just know that the black days end and we wonder why we did not have the courage to hope. Every CIC application has a conclusion - that is the best guarantee we have - it is only a matter of time.
