Subject: How soon after PR |
Hello,
I am in the final stages of receiving PR, but I have a fiancee back home. We have never lived together so we cannot be classified as common law. How soon after receiving PR, can I go and marry to begin the sponsorship process?

(in reply to: How soon after PR) About 2 seconds after landing.

(in reply to: How soon after PR) does she has to be married to kick start the application?

(in reply to: How soon after PR) Yes, she is asking how soon can she marry him and start the application. As far as the laws concern, she can get married outside the door of international arrivals at the airport.

(in reply to: How soon after PR) Oh wow really? Most people told me that it might seem like a MOC if i do it right after landing!

Go for it! (in reply to: How soon after PR) You can get married whenever you want. Why wait? Getting married should not have anything to do with your Sponsoring her. If you are in love, then just do it!
As for when you can start the application, you can´t sponsor anyone until you are a Permanent Resident. So you´ll have to wait for the ´ol PR Card for that part.
