Subject: Permanent card
  Hello Please help,

I landed in Canada on 2nd Nov 2010 and got my SSN. I came back within 1 week to UK. I have a friend in Canada who is a canadian citizen.
I want to apply for PR card in Feb 2012 by staying outside Canada. My plan is fill the respective forms.
I have taken a Canadian PO Box in joint acct. with my friend.
I am going to take phone service and ask them to send my bills to PO Box.
I have Confirmation of Residence.
My Question is If I am staying outside Canada can I send all my completed forms to friend and he applies for PR card.
According to what I read If you are freshly landed in canada then it takes max 45 days for PR card but if you go out of Canada and then comeback again then it takes 135days to get PR card. I don´t want to wait sitting idle w/o work for 135 days after arriving in Canada.

In PR application form they have asked about address should I put all my UK addresses and one last address of friend´s showing them as if i stay with him and after arriving in canada I can show them ph bills which will arrive in my PO box.
The fear I have is I don´t have any proof of tenancy in canada.
2) When this is going on I want to apply for canadian Travel document in UK. Can I apply for TD and PR card at the same time.
How long will it take for my TD to come?

If everything I said above is ok then my PR card will arrive at the local office and I have to collect it within 180 days after an Officer
informs me about it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Abi

ABSOLUTE MESS (in reply to: Permanent card)
When you landed on Nov 2nd, 2010, what happened during your landing process?

Did CIC not mail your PR card to your address in Canada?

Applying for a PR card after two years outside Canada?

Worrying about resident obligation, a TD account and travel document?

PR card (in reply to: Permanent card)
Hello Friend,
First Many Thanks for ur reply.
According to ur first question .....
When i first landed in canada in nov 2010.At that time i had record of landing(confirmation of permanent residence IM5292) with mi.After reaching there at airport only officers checked my passport and asked mi ,r u coming first time to canada then he send mi to lady immegration officer. She checked my all documents and signed and she attached confirmation of PR document to last page of my passport.she said when u will again come to canada u have to apply for travel document.
I asked her about applying permanent residence card, she said u need to go to CIC office.I went there, again lady over there ,told mi ,
U need to have proof of address (with my name on tenency papers),then only i can apply for PR card.and also she said any utility bills in canada on ur name,or driving liscence.
At that time due to lack of time i could not do more on that.so i could not apply for Pr card at my first landing.
So i came back to Uk.

Yes,now i want apply for PR card after 1 year (as i went canada in nov 2010)from outside canada
Now i want to apply for Pr card from here,I ordered forms online. But as i said,I will fill forms and my friend in canada will do it for me.so
Is this possible that i will apply for Pr card showing as if i m in canada staying with my friend (as existing permanent residence accoring to CIC website for PR card Processing Timeline )and now simultaneously i will apply for travel document ,so that when i will reach canada,by that time i will have my PR card in my hand.

I m not worrying about resident obligation at this moment.

(do i need to b physically present in canada for applying for PR card).
According to CIC website ,It tells for a freshly landed candidate PR card processing time is 39 days. And for existing permanent residence it takes 145 days.So as i could not apply for PR card in first landing.i want to do that from ouside canada and save my time.

so please any help will be appreciated,if u know more in this.

Thanks ...

MUST BE IN CANADA TO GET IT (in reply to: Permanent card)
It tells for a freshly landed candidate PR card processing time is 39 days. And for existing permanent residence it takes 145 days.

Freshly landed candidates and existing permanent residents are all physically in Canada.

PR card (in reply to: Permanent card)
For PR card you have to submit residential proof. W/o which u cannot get PR card. I landed in canada with my confirmation of permanent residence letter. and stayed their for 1 week in 1 week I cannot apply for PR card as for PR card residential proof is required under your name.

I complete my 1 year outside canada in Nov 2011.

I am going to apply for TD
my question is after TD arrives what is the expiry limit(number of days months)?

PR card (in reply to: Permanent card)
Hello Friends,
I m really thankful to all of U.
I complete my 1 year outside canada in nov 2011.

As u all suggested ,I will b applying for travel document soon. Before that i want to know ,

1) How long it take to get travel document(days/months)?

2)After getting TD ,what is expiry limit of TD,
(That How much time i get after getting TD to enter in canada)
3)I read that I can stay 2 years outside canada out of 5 years to get citizenship. Is this correct limit?
4)In those remaining 3 years Whether I have to show to government that i am paying tax to Canadian government then only it fulfills the criteria for applying citizenship,
Is it mendatory to show exact 3 years(36 months tax paid)to Gov.?
as I will apply for PR card, and apply for job after reaching there in canada.

Thanks......
