Hello, i became a permanent resident on July 2010, i returned back to home country on October 2010. I am planning to return to Canada on September 2012. Is there a problem as i heard from lots of friends that i shouldn´t stay outside Canada for more than 6 months although the CIC site saying that residency obligation is 2 years out of 5 years period. Please Confirm what´s the truth. Thanks

To maintain your PR status you must live in Canada two out of every 5 rolling years.
The six month rule is an old rule that no longer exists.
