| Subject: Sponsorship Appeal |

I submitted a sponsorship application for my parents, residing in Israel, in 2006. Two weeks ago my parents were both found inadmissible on health grounds. I plan on appealing this decision on humanitarian and compassion grounds given that my parents have no family (at all) left in Israel. My parents are in their late 70´s and as one can imagine, were in much better shape six years ago, when I first applied.
Questions:
-What are my chances of winning this appeal?
- How do I solidify my chances of winning this appeal? (documents?)
- Should I hire counsel?

You asked three questions all of which you don´t know the answer to.
Should you retain Counsel?
Only if you do NOT know the answer to question 1 & 2.
What are the chances of winning this appeal? Well DocD is in a race from one end of the Edmonton Mall to the other with five other competitors next Sunday what are the chances of him winning?
Winning an appeal like this one is based on two factors. Error in Law and H&C. Without persons being able to review everything why would you ask that question? Who knows if there could be an error in Law.
Regarding H&C factors have to be well addressed. So why should your medically inadmissible parents be admitted over Tom´s medically inadmissible parents?
Should you retain Counsel????
No your parents are in their seventies their health will further deteriorate by the time their appeal date is scheduled.
You want to be with them. They don´t require Visitor Visas, Holiday Season is upon us. Forget the fight, think positive, they can visit you for....
If they got here as Permanent Residents status you would be responsible for them for 10 years. Well

Unfortunately, your chances of winning this one are very slim. You would have to prove that the law was not applied correctly in your application in order to appeal.
H&C....?, not having family in Israel and so forth as hard as it is, doesn´t prove hardship alone. They have the option of visiting you 6 months every year. That being said, as visitors they still have to prove that they have enough ties to their home country and they have a true intention of going back to Israel at the end of their visit.
