Subject: uncle in Canada
hi,getting ready for the interview. though I am the primary applicant,my husnand´s uncle in Canada has offered to give an affidavit to state his financial support,is that going to help at all? I have no pay slips since I have been paid money in envelops. No income tax returns since I my income is just below the taxable margin how can I convince the officials about my job experience???
Thanks for the help.

get a letter from your employer stating your income. are you in Canada? if so you and your boss are both commiting tax evasion. CPP and EI payments are still required even though you are below taxable levels. You are still required to file and income tax return.

if you are from outside Canada, it will be interesting how CIC deals with this. Please let us know what happens.

No I am from India. In our area there are so many people that I know who still get paid in envelops. I don´t work for a mulinational just a small town company .I am well below the taxable margin . Does that pose a problem for me??? Also I am applying throug an agent. I have been on long leave as well since I I went through a tough pregancy as well( bed rest etc)I don´t know how all of this is going to reflect on my eligibility. Thanks for your valuable advice Sharon. One more thing I have not done my IELTS either....but I hope that they will be able to figure it out on their own as to where I stand in my language abilities....I have more questions,Please do reply.:-)

To Sharon (in reply to: uncle in Canada)
I live in India. I know a lot of people out here still do get paid in Envelops...!!!I am well below the taxable margin and I am not rquired to file for any.I work for asmall town company as a Programmer. What else can I take to prove my work experience? What kind of proof can I ask my employer to validate my work experience? ALso I have not done my IELTS since I went through a tough preganacy ( bed rest etc) and my second baby is just 15 months old. Since I had applied way back in 2003 through an agent my second baby is not included in the process either....How can I include her now . Is it possible to get her papers moving at the time of interview??? What about showing long gaps of leave from work due to pregnancy and New born baby???
I am worried. Please do suggest your valuble opinions regarding these.Thanks.

you are leaving a lot of things to chance. do everything you can to validate your employment. CIC is looking for proof that what you claim on your application is true. You have not done your language test - you take a big risk. An interview is not designed to prove language proficiency. Do you have enough time to take the exam and get the results before your interview - if so, I would do it.
Already they call for an interview because there is some questions - do not give them endless reasons to say no to you.

your uncle can be listed as family living in Canada. that should have give you 5 points in your original application. his financial support is not considered by CIC. What is your consultant telling you about all these issues?

I would advise CIC immediately through your consultant. also be prepared with the same documents at your interview in case there has not be time to process them. It´s time to get this together before your lose your opportunity.
