My name is Stephen, and I´ve been in this forum for a year now.I applied for H&C and PRRA application last year.My H&C in September,2010 and PRRA in December 2010.My PRRA will be a year by next week since i applied.I know that the H&C can be treated for years. I was told by the CBSA officer last year that it could take 2-6 months.I just wanted to ask you guys if this is normal. I was told they don´t have any delay concerning PRRA processing.My PRRA application was initially sent to Dundas street west in December 2010,and later transferred to Vancouver in April 2011.In July 2011, i was told that my PRRA was transferred to Montreal along with my H&c.Please i need positive response.I´m not a lawyer but only seeking for your opinion if this is normal. Please i await your response.To add to it, i´m in college under taking practical nursing and working full time as well. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

A decision on a PRRA is rendered in about 6 months.
Since it has been more than a year past, it must be ok to say that the file is placed in queue.
The poster has not revealed anything what transpired prior to the filing of H&C and PRRA and is now looking for someone who might be able to shed some light on the case.

Thanks for the response. I came into Canada in 2006, failed refugee in 2008. Applied for appeal, won it and later went for another refugee interview still refused.My wife filled in for me in early 2009 and got our case transferred to local office without AIP. We were called for interview, saying they´ll get back to us. Things went wrong during this time and she called CIC to withdrawn the application. I have no other option, but to fill in H&C and PRRA application. I am a college student and hoping for the best. Something significant came up after my refugee hearing, so i have two details on my existing PRRA. I gave them new evidence to make my case positive. I know it takes little chance to win a PRRA, but i think i have provided them with enough vital documents to back it up. Though, still looks up to the decision.

Thanks Roy,i do update my files frequently;however,someone told me that the more i keep updating, the longer my files takes to be processed.Like i said before, i am not a lawyer, but i keep learning everyday. The last stuff i sent them was in June,2011. I´m pretty sure the office that will treat my application would not be happy with me hahahaaaa. He´s going to take one month,because i have sent in stuff upon stuffs. I hope he´ll not be mad with my applications. I heard that my H&C and PRRA application will be handle with the same officer. Ideas and opinion keeps flying from left and right. I know you have more experience and you can shed more light into this situation. My PRRA is still pending,just what was i told.

You filed a Pre Removal Risk Assessment because you have a risk to your life or you will face cruel or unusual treatment or punishment if sent home (in your opinion).
You posted (something significant came up after the refugee hearing).
If you face torture or a risk to your life upon your return why would you claim that I may get shot with a water pistol.
[IF] ----- something significant came up and you indeed face a risk to your life or you will face cruel or unusual treatment or punishment if sent home why would you be concerned about hurting a CIC Officers feelings by submitting additional proof of your valid reasons?

Mr.Roy,i have something putting me at risk. The CIC website indicates that your update your files, that the decisions would be made base upon what the officer has on the desk. I just said that out of hum an that the guy would have to read a lot. My case evidence is all over the news and it not something am proud of,but it´s the situation at hand.
Don´t you think i have to update my application? If i have to send in proof upon proof, the desk would be high hill. However, i still have to send in whatever i have to send to make my case stronger.The same situation that make me to lose my refugee hearing when the member said i don´t have enough proof to prove my case before him. sincerely, i was shot of document,because i was unable to provide what they were asking of me. I gave them my younger brother medical certificates and a letter from the hospital indicating how he was brought in by the police. He was brutalize and was unable to survived the torture. So isn´t this a way of proving my case.His pastor was the one that took care of his burial as all my family were on the run for their lives. So if the pastor gave me all what he took to make him at rest, letters from the members,pastor,medical records,affidavit from witnesses,how they visited him and they threatened to kill them. Is this too much to give to CIC that my life is in danger as they´re are in search of my family? The incident is on the internet and not a joke. So killing my younger brother is something i should be PROUD OFF? Certainly not, but i still have to make my life more secure. Not all refugees are fake. Some are real, but the real ones mostly go through hardship even before we were ask for file in for any hardship we might face in the nearest future.At the moment, i´m paid freaking $6,000 to go to school and better my life. I do not care about OSAP or whatsoever, but my life. I am a practical nursing student and i hope one day, i´ll have you on my bed..hahahahaa...just kidding.

I just don´t understand your concerns. It is the quality of the evidence not the quantity of the evidence so why do you care what he/she has to reply to they are getting paid to assess your evidence.
So ask for your $6,000.00 back at the airport or submit quality evidence so you can finish your studies.

Roy,I have always be giving you the respect you deserved in this forum. Thanks for your concern, but you really need not to insult people in this forum. I´ve been reading how people insult and abuse you in this forum. Please you just have to ignore some question if you know you have no tolerance to absorb them.You need to respect people regardless of their situation. I´m not going to say anything insulting towards you. I have given them enough good quality evidence that justified my case.Thank you again, but you need to show more mature when it comes to matter like this. Only God knows how you treat you client.

@Sharon, i guess you and Roy are in collaboration? I have never seen you seek forbidden why Roy is so rude to everyone in this forum. I asked a simple question that my file is getting up to a year. I said if this situation is normal? I do not hurt anybody with my document´s. Honestly Sharon, you guys need to talk to Roy or whatever he call his name. His attitude will never make him better.The truth need to be point out. He lack´s human respect and dignity. You are not a CIC officer with the little question I´ve asked him.
