I still have yet to move all of my belongings into Canada, when I come through with furniture and etc in a u-haul, what should I expect at the border? Are they going to open and look through every box? I would be crossing at peace arch, do I go through the normal immigration entrance, or do I have to go through a truck crossing?

(in reply to: bringing U-Haul into canada) If you are driving Truck then use truck crossing. Bring as comprehensive list as possible. More details you have is better. Usually Canadian Immigration people are very friendly. I don´t think they will open every box but you never know as you are coming from USA.

(in reply to: bringing U-Haul into canada) Hi I just crossed the US-Canada border in July ´04.
Make as comprehensable (sp?) list as possible as to what you are bringing in the truck. In general, my crossing went real smooth. The detailed list of your belongings up front will expedite your crossing.
Good Luck
