Its difficult to say whether a decision is about a PPRA or H&c. If it doesn´t say anything more in ur online status. I would suggest wait for the letter and keep ur finger cross. Everthing will be ok. May I ask u when did u apply for h&c and prra.

If you or anyone else mentioned what CIC calls risk in your H&C CBSA never tells you which application is going to be dealt with at this meeting.

If you don´t go you will not know you got a positive H&C or a Negative PRRA. If you fail to show up a warrant for your arrest will be issued.

You can win if you get a positive H&C. There are ways to find out in advance.

We knew in advance about these people. http://m.torontosun.com/2011/10/05/chinese-family-granted-refugee-status?noimage&

A PRRA officer from a local immigration office makes a decision on both of applications, H&C and PRRA. The applicant is to receive the decision in person at GTEC.

The decision was made at least a month ago at the local immigration officer. Now the decision letter is transferred to the GTEC for the applicant to receive.

The applicant is expected to a letter explaining what decision was made on his or her H&C and PRRA.

In our online H&C status it say that:

We received your application for permanent residence on March 1, 2011.

We started processing your application on October 21, 2011.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on December 12, 2011 on your address, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

but when we call to c1c office that check our status. the officer say it is in process.and i apply PRRA almost six months ago. thats why i worried it is PRRA Or H&C.

even i not receive any letter like you want to submit additional document FOR h&c.

THANKS

Before Vancouver Backlog office was opened as H&C Intake central office, H&C was transferred to a local immigration office so that it would be combined with the PRRA.

The applicant would receive a letter saying that their H&C from Vegreville office was now transferred to the local office.

When a decision was made on the two, the applicant was (is still) to go to GTEC to receive it in person, which is the first stage, approved in principle.

GOOD LUCK (in reply to: H&C)
We received your application for permanent residence on March 1, 2011. (It must be H&C)

We received your application for permanent residence on June 1, 2011. (In those days, CIC online status would still show PRRA as above)

We started processing your application on October 21, 2011.

So the letter arrives: from CBSA write that:

This is to advise that the decision is rendered with respect to your application to the minister of protection under the immigration and refugee protection act.

(If H&C is approved, the applicant will go through medical, send copy of passport, photos for PR card and landing fees.)

And the online status will indicate as follows:

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on December 12, 2011 on your address, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

(Receive a pink letter and go to the local immigration office and sign the Confirmation of PR and get SIN, etc.)

Your timeline as indicated online sure differs from a few years ago.

A few things are sure:

You will receive a decision regarding your application(s).

You are not landing as Permanent Resident at GTEC.

You will see whether H&C and PRRA are combined and reviewed on the SOURCES CONSULTED at the last page of the decision letter.

hi Anonymous thank for reply me but i don´t understand what you like to say me in this line.
We received your application for permanent residence on June 1, 2011. (In those days, CIC online status would still show PRRA as above)

please can you help me answering following questions that confusing me.
1)when people see online status it shows that "your application is transferred to local office" but in my case it doesn´t show before decision made, why?

2)when i see online status for my application it says "decision made" but when i call to cic call centre the agent says your file is in process. why it is different?

3)CIC doesn´t prompt me to send further document before taking decision. they open my file on 21 Oct 2011 and when i checked my online status in 1st week of december 2011 it says that decision made. what you think they don´t want more document before decision and does they do with every h&c appication?

4)GTEC told me to bring with me the following documents:

A valid/expired passport
birth certificate
4 passport size photos
ohip socail card
proof of any appeal in federal court and so on

what do you think by this documents, we have positive decision? or they told every applicant to bring above documents, whether it´s positive or negative decision?

5) i heard that PRRA decision take maximum (6 months) and H&C process take minimum (20 months)what do you think its PRRA decision or H&C decision. but in my case PRRA have (6 months)and h&C have (9 months).

@Rozi, I´m not a legal expert. All i can say to you is to show up whenever they ask you to come in. No matter what tips you might have gotten from this forum, you still have to keep your fingers cross.I know PRRA cases might take up 2 to 6 months before getting a decision. H&C average decisions comes in 20 months. It case by case. Be positive and make sure you have second thought on what next to do it the decision goes either way. From my story, i applied for H&C in September,2010.PRRA application in December,2010.I am still waiting for the decision to be render. That doesn´t mean that i´m not worried about it. My PRRA is a year and a month now and H&C is a year and four months. Just be hopeful. Make sure you have an arrangement with your lawyer in case the decision goes either way. That is the only advice i can give to you. Best of luck Rozi.
