To be honest I think the Canadian government should start reviewing their program, the Provincial Nominee Program in particular in Manitoba. do they ever realize how many immigrants are arriving in Canada everyday, and do they have any idea that most if not all these people are still jobless 3-6 months after they landed in Canada. The immigrants are apparently qualified and has strong employability based on their education and work experience - most of them nurses, doctors, pharmacists, engineers, lawyers - but they all end up working as call center operators, dishwashers, merchandisers all because they DON´T QUALIFY for their professions. Am I missing something here???????And all they tell us in those government sponsored seminars is that we should get a Canadian certificate...we did not come here to study but to settle and become a productive part of the society.

(in reply to: Finding Employment in Canada) It is time to think proper: you need to bring about a quarter mil when you move to Canada; coming here with empty hands and pockets won´t help; the new arrival must have enough resources to live on for about 3 first years.

(in reply to: Finding Employment in Canada) How come they are jobless if they are under the PNP?
I thought you need to have a job offer to be considered under the PNP.

(in reply to: Finding Employment in Canada) Just realised that eh Ramos? I threw my PR cards away to the garbage bin.... felt good and said goodbye to Canada. What Canada really needs are optimist, happy-go-lucky, hardworking minimum wage workers who will pay ridiculously high monthly rent fee for the rest of their lives. Well unless you came from a war-torn country.... good luck!
