I all the call center and just inquire to see if someone might say too much and tell me what my decision was but the call center agent at cic said that both my prra and h&c are still in process.. I am soo confused as to how they will be in process if a decision is rendered.. Please explain to me why? I am very scared of a negative out come..

REASON TO BE SCARED (in reply to: Cbsa decision rendered, cic extend work permit)
The decision regarding ´your my application to the minister for protection under act´ was made at least a month ago.

CBSA, the people at GTEC, do not make this decision. The H&C and PRRA officers at either Vancouver Backlog offices and at local immigration offices do.

Can these decisions be made separately?

Yes, they can. Look below. Both negative rendered at different times.

--
On July 5, 2011, their PRRA application was rejected.

On October 4, 2011, the applicants’ H&C application was refused.

--

...prra and h&c are still in process...

Yes, technically, they are in process because you have not been landed as PR yet.

The applicants would receive that their file move to a local immigration for further assessment where it would be combined with the PRRA and reviewed together.

Extending work permit after decision was made meant nothing?? (in reply to: Cbsa decision rendered, cic extend work permit)
So in other words.. My work permit being extend does not meant that my application has been approved.. There is still a chance that they can send me home?

Waiting for a decision on their PRRA, the applicants can be given a work permit to support themselves. Would Canada make someone stop working, putting families financially at risk because of a negative decision?

Pay attention to the expiry date of the renewed work permit for it may give you a sense of timeline.

Who knows it is a positive decision. Let´s hope so.

Good luck! The atmosphere at GTEC is terrible, the happiest place in town.

Hi Danneil, when did you applied for your PRRA and H&C? Can you share your time-line please.Don´t be despair, but you must also have a plan in place, in case the decision go either way. Make sure you have your lawyer in stand-by. He/she will give you more professional advise. I wish you all the best. I´m crossing my fingers as well. I am in the same situation with you. My PRRA is a year and a month. Please share your time-line.

Kind of long.. I included alittle bit more that a time line but I hope you have some advise on other things (in reply to: Cbsa decision rendered, cic extend work permit)
I received the letter to apply for prra on March 14th 2011, I adhere to the 15 and 30 days request. I submitted h&c sometime in December or January( have to confirm with my lawyer).on e-cas it said they received my application for P.R on feb 25th and start processing it on November 15th 2011. A letter was sent out on Dec 22nd 2011( but neither my lawyer nor I received that letter and we are still enquiring what that letter was all about). I receive a letter dated Jan 09 2012 to appear for an interview because a decision has being rendered( I am suppost to bring 4 passport pictures, birth certificate, passport etc) at 6900 airport rd, to know the decision. The puzzling thing is that the letter was written on Jan 09 2012, they extented my work permit on January 18th until my passport expires in october 15 2012. Would cic extend my work permit if they know that I have a negative decision on my application??

Danniel, regardless of the work permit extension, you have to get your decision to know the next step. Work permit is not the issue here, but your decision.I hope you´ll get a positive result. If not,the work permit is of no use.

The decision was made before or on on Dec 22nd 2011 and CBSA, the Minister´s Delegate received it and drafted its own version of letter--decision rendered..you are required for an interview. Dates on the letters must be different because there is delay between bureaucratic relay which between CIC and CBSA.
