Subject: Deportee returned to Canada, using false credentia
I have known this person since 10 years, when he came to Canada the first time. He applied for refugee status, which was declined. He tried to convince me to marry him, but I refused. As a result of this he threatened me, and used the access he had to all my personal information and has screwed my credit history, from which I am still recovering. I did not press charges, because he was imprisoned, and shortly after he was deported to his home country a few years ago because he failed to show up for his hearing.
Shortly after he was back in his country he married a Canadian who he had met before his deportation. They lived together for a few years in his home country. He has now returned back to Canada with her. I have kept track of his activities, since I still feel uneasy about the threats and am now constantly watching out.
While he was in his home country, he claimed to have received a degree from a Canadian university, as well as having worked for the feds - all of which is untrue.
He has now gained access to jobs which have considerable responsibility by giving false credentials about univeristy degrees, awards, positions held in his home country. I followed up with the institutions he claims to have received his degrees and awards from and they have all confirmed that it is untrue.
Being an immigrant to this country myself, I have gone through all the steps required and I have worked to gain my credentials. I find it outrageous that someobdy should be able to get around everything by simply lying and taking advantage of people.
I am not sure if lying about credentials is a criminal act - after all it would be up to the employers to check that. But this is exactly what he is playing on: people here in Canada are not going to bother to follow up his credentials in his home country, and vice versa.
However, if he is lying about his credentials, and he has already been deported once, wouldn´t immigrations be interested to know about this?

Yes - immigration would be very interested. Here´s how you can notify them:

Unless you can prove that he misrepresented himself in the IMMIGRATION application, then is not CIC or CBSA problem.

Make sure that you can prove your allegations. Otherwise he can sue the nuts out of you for difamation.

actually, you can provide the tip and it would be the responsibility of the cbsa to investigate it, if they accept that there is merit to the allegation, and it would also be their responsibility to prove it.

it can be an anonymous tip.

So if one is deported, by marriage to a Canadian the deportee can return to Canada? Is this through an ARC or automatic because of the marriage?

misrepresentation results in an automatic ban for 2 years. Once that is done, the Canadian can attempt to sponsor them but there is no guarantee he/she will be approved.

nothing with CIC is ever automatic.
