Subject: Apply from within Canada or from abroad? |

Hi,
My fiance and I live and work as engineers in Norway. I am born and raised Canadian and she is born and raised Norwegian. We would like to move to Canada and basically have three options, as far as I know:
- Apply for a skilled worker visa for her
- Apply for a spousal visa from within Canada (after our wedding in July)
- Apply for a spousal visa from outside of Canada (while on an extended honeymoon)
Any advice/experience for which is the best/fastest path? Any other options?

(in reply to: Apply from within Canada or from abroad?) Apply for a spousal visa from outside of Canada (this is the fastest option). Note that you can use the "outside of Canada" application even if she is actually in Canada.

Sounds fishy to me (in reply to: Apply from within Canada or from abroad?) "Note that you can use the "outside of Canada" application even if she is actually in Canada."
Really?? Doesn´t sound right to me, I would think since they will be looking you up and see you did not leave Canada and are still here that you´d now have demonstrated a lie to them. I´m pretty sure that will end as a guaranteed rejection. I admit I don´t know that for sure but it makes no sense. The big deterrent for applying inside Canada is the wait time for that application.

Apply from within Canada or from abroad? (in reply to: Apply from within Canada or from abroad?) definitely the spousal visa.
