I arrived in canada 3weeks ago. I got married february 2011 but i did not yet change my status,and also I used my surname when I apply for live in caregiver.I was advised not to change my status until i arrive here.so in my application all the forms that I sent to immigration canada My marital status is still single. I have know idea i just listen to those advises. Will I inform immigration about this?do you know their tel no.? Thanks for the help.:)

It´s too late. You should have updated your marital status and surname before you received your live-in caregiver visa and arrived in Canada. You have technically committed misrepresentation by arriving in Canada on a visa that says you are single when you are actually married. Unfortunately your friends gave you very bad advice.

aw.. you should have not listened to your friend´s advice..
US has a very strict rules when it comes to immigration laws..
but i think your problems will be solved if you ask for a lawyer´s advice.. find an experience lawyer regarding this issue..

hi there. I first came to Canada last year as a single then I got married this year. With regards to Canada government policy what are the very important or necessary documents that I need to comply that will help my application for PR and sponsoring my husband in the future. Also, my husband has a daughter from previous relationship and the child is under his name but staying with her mother. She´s now 7 yrs old but I haven´t spoke to her at all. We´re planning to include the child to my application like adoption. please tell me the solid ground for me to be qualified for this matter. Please advise. Thanks! dutchie.

hi I just want to ask how to change my marital status from single to married. im single when I apply my pr last august 2014 and I got married last june 6,2015.do I have to call the canada immigration or I have to write a letter to inform them?and what are the requirements for updating my status?thanks

Canadian Permanent Resident is waste. Canada earns money with this new concept.
I got my Permanent Resident Card after going to Canada but it is absolutely waste of money and time.
No JOB opportunities are available in Canada. The only available is "Racism"
Where ever you go - you find only Racial discrimination.
Government take care of unemployment people and their kids by paying monthly - Government will not consider PR for any care!!!
if you have 1 child then you get CAD $850 per month to feed your child. 2nd child - 950$... 3rd child 1050 $.. so basically if you give birth you earn more!!!
I am thinking to return to Native country :(
