| Subject: Regarding points on educational qualification |

1. I have done two year diploma, 12 year full time education and graduation through correspondence.
May please guide me how many points will I get while assesing myself for canadian immigration.
2. In IELTS I have obtained 6.5 bands and I am a Software Engineer and applying for canadian immigration in skill worker category.
May Please guide can I apply.

Hi Sunita,
You havent compleated your graduateion so you cannot claim your points for graduate degree. But you can claim your points for being a diploma holder. This will fetch you 15 points.
15 points come from :
Obtained a one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies
Now thay say its 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies. you have 12 years of studies and then extra one year can come from one year of work experience.
You can translate 1 year of work experience as studies but you cant do the other way round...
