Subject: Interview at CBSA
  hello,
i came in 2009 on a student visa from zimbabwe...claimed refugee status a month later. i was called for the hearing in may 2011 and my lawyer who somehow got "suspended" a month before this date only told me about 10days before my hearing. i attended with a new lawyer who i met tht day as a replacement from him....then a month later a decision came in the mail tht it was declined. my lawyer ditched me...and i found another one who wanted to help. i was to apply for the humanitarian then last week i got a letter from CBSA asking me to appear at 6900 airport road to "update immigration file". i stil have a valid work and student permit till feb 2013. anyone knows whats going to happen???

They probably will offer a Pre Removal Risk Application to you if you still feel that you have a risk to your life to return to Zimbabwe.

You found these great Lawyers why did you not ask them? Oh I know they are sending you by yourself.

4000 $ from a firm in downtown Toronto near Osgoode Station.

About 1500 $ from a small firm specialized in H&C and PRRA cases.

LOL small firm specializing in H&C and PRRA cases for $1,500.00

Well since the new legislation to get Royal Assent today there is no more H&C plus with the changes to C-31 there will be no more PRRA´s

Speedoflight you have to make a decision so do your due diligence and make a decision. I´m not allowed to comment.

Roy, I understant what you mean.

I know the price to go through them is too high, but if its going to be Done, I wouldnt regret at all.
I am that type of person that I would not like to loose my chance and fail, I want to do my best and immigrate there.
A friend of my went through them Chant.Lo.. payed 7000$,
I am doing a lot, I am not staying home and waiting for Santa, I am taking French classes for the last almost 2 years...

They sugested me to wait for new legislation and decide

Thanks

You have to take your changes.

I spent 35K in legal and immigration fees over 10 years and i am still here in limbo.

Best of luck, do not give up.
