Subject: Proving genuine relationship
  Hello All!!

Thanks in advance for you help! I am always impressed by the quick responses I get on this forum.

My husband and I have been married for just about a year and have been together for over 3 years in total. This August we will be moving to Canada (I´m American, he is Canadian). I am in the final stages of preparing my immigration papers (just waiting for my background check). Anyways, I am wondering if we have adequate evidence of being in a genuine relationship. Here is what we have:

1. marriage license
2. many, many photos from our 2 year dating relationship and first year of marriage. Pictures of major events (birthdays, school events, meeting each other´s families, family reunions, weddings of friends, our wedding, etc...) with our family and friends.
3. our personal narratives of our relationship
4. about 20 letters from our immediate families and closest friends about the authenticity of our relationship
5. Facebook screenshots outlining our relationship
6. some emails - not a lot because the majority of our relationship was spend together at college and now as a marriage couple living together
6. joint bank account statements, mail received at the same address, e-tickets from trips together, etc.. - this is the least extensive area of data that I have

At this point this is everything that we have. Do you think is enough to prove to an immigration officer (without an interview) that we are in a true and valid relationship??

*as I mentioned before we spent most of our relationship together at college and now living in China as a married couple. To prove our time together in college I will submit unofficial transcripts from our college and copies of our diplomas.*

Thank you so much for your input!!!!! You are sooooo appreciated!!!!

Google Chavez v. M.C.I. (2005), IAD TA3-24409 (IAD).Then focus on your plans for both of your future. +, +, +

Chavez Vs. MCI
The genuineness of the marriage is based on a number of factors. They are not

Identical in every appeal as the genuineness can be affected by any number of different factors in each appeal. They can include, but are not limited to, such factors

as;

1. the intent of the parties to the marriage,
2. the length of the relationship,
3. the amount of time spent together,
4. conduct at the time of meeting,
5. at the time of an engagement and/or the wedding,
6. behaviour subsequent to a wedding,
7. the level of knowledge of each other’s relationship histories,
8. level of continuing contact and communication,
9. the provision of financial support,
10. the knowledge of and sharing of responsibility for the care of children brought into the marriage,
11. the knowledge of and contact with extended families of the parties,
12. as well as the level of knowledge of each other’s daily lives.

All these factors can be considered in determining the
genuineness of a marriage.
