I am a U.S citizen and my boyfriend is a Canadian citizen. We want to get engaged and be married but I heard that entering Canada under the basis of ´fiance´ is no longer allowed. Is this true? How would we be able to live together and even get married if it going to be considered fraud if I enter Canada under the basis that I am just visiting my fiance just so we can get married?

(in reply to: Married/Conjugal Sponsorship) You can still come Canada as a tourist if you are engaged to a Canadian. However your boyfriend cannot sponsor you for permanent residency on the basis of being engaged. In order for him to sponsor you - you must either be married or common law (have lived together for at least one full year).

(in reply to: Married/Conjugal Sponsorship) Fraud come on Canada is not some back woods country that do not allow Americans to visit. The vast majority of countries has no serious restrictions to visitors/foreigners marrying their nationals.
So can a Canadian get married in USA?
Your issue is living together in the same home once married. Not a problem in Canada as long as your prepared to submit an application for permanent residency.
