No sure if anyone can help, my question is that I was married and I sponsored my spouse the whole thing didn´t work out we tried to make it work but there had been too much hurt from both sides. We separated 8 months after he came to Canada.
I am now in another relationship and I may need to sponsor my common law partner. I am wondering how the fact that I separated from my husband 8 months after he came to Canada will affect my second sponsorship application? Will it significantly reduce my chances of being approved? OR am I sure to be rejected?

They will probably examine your application more closely this second time. Make sure you include a lot of supporting documentation.
When did your first spouse land in Canada and become a PR? Hopefully you´re aware that you can´t sponsor someone new for three years after your first spouse landed.

1 in 4 marriages fail in the first year and long distance relationships have serious strains to deal with.
We all have a past and we have all made mistakes.
Focus on the (now) which we can all affect change in and hope for a brighter future.

When you sponsor someone and the relationship fails shortly after they arrive of course your next sponsorship application will be scrutinized more closely.
The BIG problem arises if the second sponsorship application is going through the same Visa Post.
Never hide any failings in your application including differences. Be sure to take some blame because everyone knows if you were fooled once you could be fooled again.
