Subject: Do I need a passport to get a PR?
My family and I are applying for Canadian permanent residency. We are in the US (and citizens) and have never had passports. Do we need to get them in order to apply for PR? I notice there´s a spot on the form for passport numbers. Thanks!

Use common sense Bill! Yes, you do need a passport. Being American will help you with the English language points and interview waver.

You need to get passport before you even apply for Canadian PR. In application, I forgot what form, but anyway you have a question where is says enter your passport number and other details.
