I have applied for permanent residency under spousal pathway outside of Canada. My wife has been accepted as a sponsor. My application is "in process." We have not heard whether we will need to interview. We are trying to plan leaving work here and starting in Canada. What is the normal amount of time on the immigration visa? ie. approved in March; must show up within 3 months??

After your wife has been approved as a sponsor, depending on where the visa office is located, it might take from 6 months to 2 years or more to process you visa to immigrate to Canada.
Once your visa is approved, normally will expire a year after you took the last medical test requested by CIC.

I did my physical in March 2012. The current wait time listed is 10mo for application-received in May 2012 and in process since September. Do you think they would put the deadline in March or request a new physical?

If they are done, they are done. If CIC feels that they are going to run out time they may request a new physical.
