I´ve applied for sponsership papers of my parents and younger sister on May 1st 2004.
Can anyone tell me when i´ll be receiving first response from them and how long is gonna take to recieve kit that will be used to send my family back home!!!!

IT is hard to know exactly how long it will take, but few months is a good approximation.

Wouldnt it be advisable to ask your loved ones to go to the site www.cic.gc.ca and direct them to the forms that they can take a printout of and start filling them up since time is a big factor in the immigration process and am sure you dont want to add to that by waiting for the immigration office to send you the kit?

Actually I´ve already applied. And i am waiting for first letter that proivdes file number.

I applied in Nov 2003, and didn´t here anything back yet.
I have no idea what those guys are doing, but at the rate they are currently processing (I follow their updates regularly), I figured it would take around 3 years until my file gets processed...

I applied in October 2003, and have not heared from them since. I think the realistic time is at least 2 years, then immigration process in my parents´ home country (currently 19 month, by the time they will be able to apply it will be more, for sure), therefore 4 years in total, at least. Depressing!!

Hi,
Now it´s taking more time to get the acknowledgement from immigration. When I´ve applied for my parents 2 years ago, I got confirmation in 1 month and got processed from here in 3 months. I think, you have to wait for at least 2 years to get process ur application.
