When writing an invitation letter for a brother or sister never inform the visa officer that you need your sister to come to Canada to take care of your new baby so you can return to your employment. Babysitting is considered work.

Any activity that a person should receive remuneration for is considered work. They would then need a work permit.

If you reside in Ontario and are asking the visa officer to grant a three month stay so you can show your brother/sister the CN Tower & Niagara Falls is also not logical. You can see them both in one day. Try to use your imagination as to what anyone from your siblings country would want see during their vacation. Be imaginative.

Remember that most Canadian´s only get two or three weeks of vacation a year. Come up with an activity that they will be doing by themselves as well with possibly your kids when they are on holidays. Look away from the big city events and show them just how beautiful the nature is in Canada. Northern Ontario and the interior of BC/Alberta are hard to match in any country.

When your sibling has traveled abroad it is far more likely that they will receive a Canadian Visitor Visa. They will also need a valid reason to return to their native country. Proving that you have purchased visitor medical coverage in case of an accident shows your responsible.

Great tips ROY

Let me share my last year experience when I got Canadian Visa.

I wrote a short cover letter explaining the reason why I want to visit Canada.

I also had US Visa and I was traveling to US.

I explained that I was Toronto Student in the past and I want to go and visit Canada while I am in US, just to go and visit friends, home-stay family where I stayed as a student, walk on my favorite street Yonge & Bloor, just to visit and have fun in the city where I stayed 1 year.

I requested 5 days visa and I had hotel booking confirmation.

Previous visa (copy), and all documents (not so many) but important docs as family back-home and property.

I send it in Vienna with DHL, I got my passport back with 6 months visa, in 6(six) days.

:)

Yours,
Speedoflight,

btw.I got today my IELTS results with Score Band 6.5, L:7.0, R:6.5, W:6.0, S:6.5

Visitor visa (in reply to: Obtaining a Visitor Visa)
Hi All....
my question is about parent sponsorship. I applied in 2010 to sponsor my parents and my 5 siblings who are dependents and they all live in Afghanistan...as you know it takes years n years to process parents sponsorship application. And since CIC has introduced the new 2 year multiple entry super visa for visiting parents, So i want to send a visitor visa for my dad to come and visit me for a month. Will i ever get a visitor visa for him??? I have not applied yet but everyone i know told me not to waste my time becoz Afghanistan is the biggest refugee claimant country so your father wont get a visa becoz the visa officer will strongly doubt if he will return back to Afghanistan..... My question is that since he will have his entire family...wife and 5 dependent children back home...he has a strong reason to go bk and that may convince the visa officer? He also has two properties on his name...it has been. 2.5 years since we have filed the sponsorship. Please help me and let me know what can be done to get a visit visa and not a denial. Thank you
