Subject: Residency Questionnaire - Relocation
  Hi,

I have the following question on behalf of a friend: He submitted a residency questionnaire for a citizenship application in Feb 2012 at the St-Claire office in Toronto. In Oct 2012, he relocated to Montreal for a job:

- If he requests moving his citizenship application from Toronto to Montreal, will this cause the RQ to start from scratch in Montreal, or will they take the 1yr spent into consideration? In other words, will his RQ be at the end of the queue? Are there any previous experiences with this?

- Same question, but if he moves within GTA, like to Scarborough or Mississauga (who have their own CIC offices).

Thanks for the feedback.

i don´t know for citizenship but i re call that usually in immigration cases if you transfer your file , you are more likely to keep your rank.
people have reported that when they move within the GTA the file doesn.t move from an office to another.
i guess you can request it if you want .
you can ask the call center when changing your address
