I got my canada PR one year ago but I have been living in India since.
I am moving to canada permanently in a month .
I need to visit a cousin in US .
I had a US visitor visa that expired recently.
If I will apply after reaching canada, I will have to wait
for several months after I settle down etc.
If I apply now in India, saying I am a Canada PR and need to visit
US on my way, what are the chances?
Anybody done that? Any suggestions?

You will get either way
Go in Canada and apply from there, they will issues 10 years Multi US VISA, it wont take long, just tell someone in Canada to arrange visa appointment in order for you not to wait,
