My husband and I submitted his application the end of Nov 2012.. we are awaiting to hear a response and waiting patiently to see if hes approved so he can get his work permit,, but our case is complicated first about me (the sponsor) in 2008 i was convicted of robbery and violence(against a stranger) did my time and waiting patiently for my pardon....Now i know the previous law stated that a sponsor was ineligable if there was sex offence or violence against the spouse or family member(which i did not do) now i believe the law has changed that any violent offense to anyone could make ineligable,, my lawyer(prolly cause shes being paid) wont really say if she thinks we will get it,, basically left it at 50/50 chance,,ive spoken to another immigration lawyer,, she said put in LOTS of pictures of our daughter to get the focus of me and have them see our beautiful daughter that is canadian and what it would do to us if my husband had to leave,, anyways as time ticks weve become very worried that we will be denied but our case doesnt end there,,,,, my husband does not have a record but about 6mos ago he was falsely charged by myself of domestic abuse (YES I KNOW ITS A SERIOUS CHARGE) i am a alcoholic in recovery had a relapse and just was being a mean person,, i admit it and I appologized but the police they dropped his case and charged me with mischief(great a nother charge),,, my lawyer i believe she submitted our letters stating the event and how we are getting family councilling for what i did,, and that I am back on the road of recovery again(havent touched a drop since) we are also pregnant again which I would feel if immigration had any compassion at all, they would see our family does not want to be split apart anyways,, my lawyer made it seem like maybe they wouldnt see my record,, i have lets of support, recommendation letters from my doctors and recovery centres but we havent submitted them yet unless they need more from us,, WHAT ARE OUR CHANCESSSS,, we ve been through so much!!!!!!!!! more than most has had to endure!!!!

If you had any chances, you shot em to hell by earning yet another, a fresh conviction. Ask yourself: Why do you need this man? you want pleasure? just go to neighborhood bar! You want him to work and hand you the check? even if he is doing it now, once landed, he may not put up with your alcoholic rantings n ravings.You are doing dis-service to CIC, and your slave-man....
