I hold a permanent residence card. I understand the 720 days over 5 years rule (head on the pillow nights) but it goes on to say that if I am outside the country with my Canadian citizen wife these days also count. Is this correct. I go to our cottage in Up-State New York each weekend for two or three nights. Do these count towards the 730 days? And what about two months in Florida also with her?

(in reply to: physical presence in Canada) You`re funny.
Two months in Florida = 60 days
Weekends in up state NY cottage = 104 days
Total = 164 days in one year and your concerned?
If your with your CA partner while he/she is on business in a foreign country that will not count.

physical presence in Canada (in reply to: physical presence in Canada) Do not understand your reply. We are both retired so no business connection. The Citizenship and Immigration Canada form I hold only refers to employment abroad in a separate section . It states that to comply with the 730 day rule you must be " (a) (1) physically present in Canada .(11) outside Canada accompanying a Canadian citizen who is their souse. full stop. the next paragraph refers to employment.
