Hi Roy and all, I got my refugee claim rejected 5 days ago. Now the canadian government has implemented new rules so I cannot apply for PRRA or H&C till one year. However, I have a girl friend who is a PR here and we are together for more than a year and have been sharing home address, bank account and other things. We are ready to marry each other and she is ready to sponsor me, but the problem is if in case my federal is rejected before my sponsorship is approved or even before one year, our sponsorship process will be pending and I cant even apply for PRRA or H&C. In that case, they might ask me to leave Canada, which I cannot do and because i fear my life in my home country and I dont want to go away from my girl friend.
Are there any other options which might help me to stay longer in Canada at least for one year?
I need your help ASAP, thanks.

There are always other options but (IF) your in a genuine relationship by all means have her sponsor you, because that would be the best option.
Now of course you can take your time to submit and Doc´D will be waving at your plane when you fly overhead.

Hi Roy, thanks for the suggestion. Can you please tell me what are other options too? Is there any way I dont have to leave Canada??

The moment you started banging her and living together, you should have married and applied for sponsorship! If things did not go well, you could dump her AFTER getting maple card!

I am in a same boat but I have no clue as I am out of status thats mean I have to renew my staus first and then inland spousal sponsorship. I already got married 4 months ago and now my husband is preparing to sposor me but some oen told us that I have to change my status first.

Max from when they started new rule for PRRA as my lawyer didnt tell me anything. My refugee claim refused in August 2012. so does this apply on me too?
