Subject: Can brother or sister be sponsored?
Hi,
I heard that now we (Canadians) can sponsor brother and sister just like we used to be able to sponsor our parents. Is this true? Anybody on this topic?

Yes, I think I´ve read it or someone told me that brother / sister can now sponsor brother / sister. But this does not mean anything to you, you need a concrete proof. I guess it if is true then it should be on governmenet of Canada web site. Let me know if is in fact correct.

There was a rumor abuot it, but it was never approved. It could be realized one day, however.

You can sponsor your brother as I did but you (or your family here) needs to have suficient income to support them.

is your brother over 18? (in reply to: Can brother or sister be sponsored?)
his or her brother, sister, nephew, niece, grandson or granddaughter, and be an orphan, under the
age of 18 and not a spouse or common-law partner,

what the web site says is confusing.
