Very well done Roy very nice,
Roy what can you tell me about Squatters Right? Do you know someone to have won this right ? To stay in Canada after staying for a long period of time like illegal in Canada.

Overstaying for years used to be an ideal avenue to win H&C applications but no more.

Compassion needs to be common sense or basically what the average Canadian would seem as a reason to remain here permanently. A lengthy overstay by itself will just not cut it.

I know that overstaying was an easy way to get an H&C in the past. So many people claimed refugee status knowing it would not fly just as a delaying tactic to increase their chances of an H&C. Are they really starting to deport people like that. I have mentioned a few times I have a neighbour in that situation, came from the U.S. about 13 years ago and never left. The partner has used the lack of status to gain and keep control. She claims to have submitted an H&C a couple of years ago but don`t know if that is true. There was a removal order issued at least 11 years ago so I imagine that would have turned into a deportation order. If a H&C was filed, wouldn`t that have brought the removal back to life. For years she was able to access healthcare and even get the extended care that I as a citizen did not get. She still is getting a lot but the whole situation is not sustainable and eventually she will get sick or get picked up driving without a license or some such thing and then it will get very unpleasant I imagine. All the neighbours know about this but no one wants her son to be hurt by having his mother deported.

The past you are referring to was twenty years ago.

What has your comment got to do with my updated website?

It has to do with your quote in the message directly before mine. "Overstaying for years used to be an ideal avenue to win H&C applications but no more."

You say something, other people say something about it. Didn`t really think about it being off topic but guess it is.

Since you are looking for comments about your website on this thread, I will give you one I hope is constructive. The testimonials appear to be very informative. I use the word appear because I, as a hearing impaired person, cannot access them. There is a free caption system that has added captions to your videos but they are so poor quality, they are unintelligible (click on the cc in the left hand side of the video to see them). They would actually be funny if it didn`t create such an impossible situation for so many people. There is a huge percentage of the population that is hearing impaired and it is growing faster than any demographic thanks to noise pollution, rock concerts, earphones, etc. etc. The laws and Charter are supposed to protect disabled people and guarantee accessibility including captioning but accessibility in general doesn`t work a lot of the time, especially for the deaf. There are also a great many people that find captions helpful while they are struggling to improve their English so I think it would probably be to your benefit to spend the very little money it takes to get captions professionally added. Some programs have captions with simultaneous translations. I would also recommend you tell people you are doing this because there are so few businesses that are aware and reasonably accommodating, it would give you an edge. I, for one, would recommend you for that reason alone.

The captions are turned on by clicking on the cc, it is to the left of the symbols on the right hand side of the screen. I see that some of your videos have them and some don`t. Don`t know how that happens but the ones that are there make no sense.
