Subject: extension of visa in canada |

i am going on a student visa to canada for 2 year full time study. my mother is also going with me there on a 6 month visitor visa which will be expire in dec 2013. she wishes to extend it after that. I am planning to apply for an extension for her in october 2013. but i read on the vfs website under the rules for extension that a visitor visa visa can only be extended if the person holding the visitor visa is a parent or a grand parent of a canadian citizen or a permanent resident of canada. now i will be eligible to apply for the Canadian PR after 2 years. so, is there any way out that my mom becomes eligible to apply for an extension to her visitor visa in canada?

(in reply to: extension of visa in canada) Your mother can apply for an extension to her visitor visa. (There´s no guarantee it will be approved - but she can certainly apply.)
You don´t have to be a citizen or PR for her to qualify to apply for an extension.
