Your concern is warranted based on IRPA A39
The question is have you ever been employed in Canada? Can you get any requests for interviews that can be submitted with your application. A key positive aspect would be an letter offering employment to start soon.
Income is not an issue when sponsoring a dependent child unless there is no evidence you will be able to support child.
Financial reasons
39. A foreign national is inadmissible for financial reasons if they are or will be unable or unwilling to support themself or any other person who is dependent on them, and have not satisfied an officer that adequate arrangements for care and support, other than those that involve social assistance, have been made.

(in reply to: sponsor a child for unemployed PR) I would think the daycare issue would also be relevant, given not only the expense but the long wait lists for good daycare and lack of daycare in many places. I would think it would be helpful to your case if you could indicate a clear plan on how you intend to care for the child while working.
