HI, I am a Canadian citizen currently engaged to a US citizen. We planned to get married this year but according to the immigration lawyer there are issues with me getting a K1 fiance visa.
I do have an overstay but I was contacted and told by immigration my overstay had been forgiven although I did not receive any paper work from them at the time.
I was wondering if there is any easier way to go through this process we have been told 6 months to a year for the visa.
My son who is 10 now was born in the US. I was previously married to a US citizen and were in process of filing for a green card but that was cancelled when we divorced.
This is financially draining and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas, names of good lawyers lol any help would be appreciated. Thanks
